In May 2007, the EU-China Friendship Association visited China for the first time at the invitation of the CPAFFC. He Luli, Vice Chairman of the NPC Standing Committee, met with the delegation. The delegation also met with Chen Haosu, President of the CPAFFC, Zhang Zhijun, Deputy Minister of the International Department of CPC Central Committee, Wang Yingfan, Chairman of the Delegation for Relations with the EU in the National People's Congress of China, Kong Quan, Vice Foreign Minister of China, and other officials from Ministry of Commerce and Ministry of Science and Technology. Both sides exchanged their views on the friendship development between Chinese Government and the political groups in the European Parliament

, EU aid to China and Africa, China-EU commerce, and Galileo project, etc. The delegation also discussed with relevant Chinese institutions on a wide range of issues such as building a harmonious society, China's relations with its neighbor countries, China's position in China-EU cooperation, China's environmental issues, energy use, climate change, solutions to China's corruption, China's labour standards, China's population transfer, gender discrimination and the measures to facilitate visa applications between the EU and China. The Chinese representatives spoke highly of the efforts made by the EU-China Friendship Association members to improve the EU-China relations. While they were in Beijing, the delegation paid a visit to the stadium of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games and Beijing Planning Exhibition Hall.During their visit to Shanghai, the delegation was welcomed by Sun Jiancheng, Deputy Director of Shanghai Environmental Protection Bureau, and then they visited Aircraft factory, Shanghai GM and Shanghai CITS.
